moyou london kaleidoscopic collection 10 swatch

Tuesday, January 31, 2017

I couldn't sleep so I did a swatch of this Moyou London Kaleidoscopic 10 Plate.

I used Bundle Monster stamping polish and the big bling duo stamper from Born Pretty.

All the images are lovely but these regular sized images from Moyou are just too small for my thumb huhu.

Jinio experience + Bundle Monster purchase

Saturday, November 19, 2016

When I saw Bundle Monster's blogger collab plates with the unicorn design, I knew I just had to have it! Of course, I was hesitant because I didn't wanna go to the post office again and have an anxiety attack with the Customs officer, so I tried to register with Jinio because I wanted my package delivered door-to-door. To be fair, the QC post office employees have been very nice to me. It's just not convenient for me to skip work just to get my packages.

There are a lot of freight-forwarding services to choose from like LBC shipping cart or Johnny Air. But I've been reading negative reviews on these more popular companies so I decided to go with Jinio. I must say they were very efficient and on-time, I'm impressed! One of my packages was even delivered 1 week earlier. It's also a plus that they allow liquids to be shipped! (Nail polish lots, YES)

I've read reviews with shipping cart that when their purchases arrive at the warehouse, it doesn't reflect on the website even after a week. With Jinio, my purchases were reflected on their website the same day they received them.

Here's the tracker info for one of my packages.

Overall, I can say that Jinio is very reliable. The rates are reasonable also so for my next purchases I'm pretty much set on using Jinio.

The Bundle Monster Blogger Set 3 plates are just sooo cute that as soon as I opened my package I did some swatches. I also ordered the Star slinger polish set and I'm happy that I chose that because the colors go well with the patterns of the plate set.

My boyfriend kind of made me upset the other day so he volunteered his nails for swatching. Haha.

Just when I thought I was getting better at this, I tried stamping the beagle pattern from the Moyou London Enchanted plate and it took me like 20 tries just to get it to stamp. I think it's probably the stamping polish that's giving me a hard time. I don't know why but some patterns, as you can see, pick up a lot better than the other ones. My clear stamper still won't work so I just had to align with my regular one.

Nail Stamping + Post Office Anxiety

Saturday, October 8, 2016

Hello, I'm back! haha. I didn't think I'd blog again but I found it so useful to read about other people's experiences especially about our daily struggles here in the Philippines. So why not share my stories, too?

First of all, I don't know why but I'm kind of obsessed with nail art. I know I can't paint so free-hand nail art is definitely not for me. I actually tried before but the results were so disappointing! So now that I have discovered nail stamping, I feel like I have hope. I've seen a few stamping kits since maybe 3 years ago but I never really got interested because the designs were so meh. But recently, I came across videos on youtube reviewing Moyou London Plates and I swear they are so beautiful I wanna cry. I blame you Internet! It doesn't help that they're on the pricey side and that they're not locally available. I know I can get them on Zalora but seriously, their selection is kind of pathetic. They're not even selling their polishes so what's the point?? How can you stamp without the polishes??

It also didn't help that Moyou announced a store-wide 20% sale! So obviously, I just decided to order 5 plates just to give me peace of mind. It's that struggle impulsive shoppers have. If you don't buy, you'll regret it forever. But if you buy, you won't stop at getting just 1, so you'll regret even buying the first one.

I ordered these plates:

1. Holy Shapes 01 - I was so attracted to the chevron pattern, that's why I ordered this plate. So far this is the only one I have tested and I have to say the patterns are so lovely and classy.

I'm not an expert so please don't laugh too much at my nail polish skills. haha.

Since I have small nails, it doesn't bother me that the patterns are not in the XL format. Moyou has other plates that have XL designs but I'm happy with the one I have since there are more designs in one plate. I used Revlon Brilliant Strength in Magnetize for the stamping. It stamps great! If you don't have access to stamping polishes, this would be a good starter.
